Supply Resources and Lynchburg Public Warehouse are pleased to announce their expansion in the Lynchburg area market, with the acquisition of the Veritiv/xpedx (formerly Dillard Paper) distribution center in Lynchburg VA. SRI and LPW are under the common ownership of Rick Barker and are headquartered in Danville VA.
Supply Resources, is a packaging design, sourcing and distribution company serving customers in the industrial, retail and distribution sectors. Lynchburg Public Warehouse, is a complimenting warehouse-fulfillment company that provides logistics support for some of the region’s largest employers.
Lynchburg is a dynamic market with demanding third-party logistics (3PL) requirements from various regional industries. With today’s popular Just-In-time business philosophy, many companies need warehousing, inventory management, and local transportation to manage their lean manufacturing/distribution operations.
“This modern, 80,000 square feet distribution facility will be a great addition to our current portfolio,” said Barker. “We are fortunate to have pent up demand within our current customer base and this facility will allow us to help meet this demand. The acquisition demonstrates our commitment to further expand our packaging, warehousing and logistics brands in Virginia. The acquisition creates our sixth warehouse location in the Danville-Lynchburg area market.”
Stark Dillard, originally from Lynchburg, founded Dillard Paper Company in Greensboro, NC in 1926. Later, his company built the Lynchburg distribution center in 1985, as one of twenty-four warehouses across the southeast. Ultimately, Dillard Paper Company was sold to International Paper in 199 With the recent transfer of the property at 2001 Enterprise Drive, Lynchburg, VA, Supply Resources will continue the tradition of high quality packaging distribution
throughout central Virginia, from this same location. Barker, along with SRI representative Kriss Freeman, a Lynchburg native, are both former Dillard Paper employees.
